風 | Flossie & Fern is a private English tea room and private dining experience in the mountains of Gunma, just 10 minutes by car from Karuizawa Station. Free parking is available.

 

It is not a café or a restaurant. It is a home.

 

Guests leave the main road behind, walk through the rice fields and come to a traditional renovated mountain house beside the river.

 

Inside, English Wedgwood china, seasonal, local food and simple hospitality meet the quiet rhythms of rural Japan.

 

Only one table is prepared per day.

Come for English afternoon tea or a seasonal lunch, made and served by your English host, Darren,  using local and seasonal ingredients.

 

There is no rush, no queue for the next table and very little of the outside world.

 

風 | Flossie & Fern is built around a simple idea: that a good life does not need very much.
